12th ITTF Sports Science Congress

Rotterdam, The Netherlands

The congress aims to bring together those with an interest in current developments and application of scientific principles to table tennis and will include sports scientists, researchers, coaches, therapists, and others who may be interested in the science of table tennis and (racket) sports.

The congress is organized as part of the 2011 WTTC. For the WTTC the theme Join the table has been chosen. This congress is of course one of the ways in which people can join the table. The focus is not only on table tennis, but also on other (racket) sports, with the aim to benefit from each other’s expertise.

The main theme is on individual motor skills and ActionTypes®. Subthemes are (1) Sports for all!, (2) Talent identification and development, (3) Innovations in material, training and coaching, and (4) Medical issues.

The submitted abstracts have been reviewed, a selection has been made and the authors have been notified on 17 February. The congress program will consist of 4 keynote lectures, 13 oral presentations and 39 poster sessions.
On 9 March a mailing has been sent to all participants. You can find the information here.
